Main Information
The main goal of the Department’s activities is to create conditions that meet the intellectual, cultural, and moral development needs of students by providing high-quality educational services, enabling them to obtain higher education and professional qualifications in a specific field.
The primary task of the Department is to train highly qualified specialists with deep theoretical knowledge, essential professional competencies, and practical skills that are in demand by society and the labor market.
The main tasks of the Department of Management are as follows:
- Training bachelors in the program 38.03.02 «Management»;
- Training bachelors in the program 38.03.03 «Human Resource Management»;
- Training masters in the master’s program «Organizational Human Resource Management» under the program 38.04.03 «Human Resource Management»;
- Training masters in the master’s program «Strategic Management» under the program 38.04.02 «Management»;
- Teaching bachelors, students, and masters general professional disciplines;
- Conducting scientific research in management, finance, and economics;
- Organizing educational and career guidance activities for students and schoolchildren of the assigned school in Elista;
- Training academic staff through postgraduate and doctoral programs, and improving their qualifications.
The Department of Management and Finance participates in professional retraining and advanced training programs:
- Personnel Management (504 hours)
- Management in Small and Medium Enterprises (504 hours)
- Finance and Credit (504 hours)
- Enterprise Financial Management (72 hours)
Since September 1, 2016, the department has employed 12 instructors (6 full-time positions), of which 7 hold academic degrees and titles, representing 60%. This includes 1 Doctor of Economics, Professor. The high quality of the teaching staff ensures the training of specialists in accordance with the requirements of the main educational programs.
According to the Department’s work plan, special attention is paid to the development of the bachelor’s programs «Management» and «Human Resource Management», as well as the master’s programs «Organizational Human Resource Management» and «Strategic Management», the introduction of which at the federal level is considered a contribution of the education system to training personnel for the modernization of the Russian economy and management.
The Department’s instructors conduct extensive research and methodological work: they participate in grant activities, scientific conferences, and seminars, and regularly undergo professional development at leading domestic educational institutions.
As part of the scientific, educational, and production activities, the Department of Management has established the «Perspective» center, which provides services in the following areas: business plan development, financial analysis, accounting and financial management, strategic planning, expert evaluations, short-term course organization and delivery, and more.
An educational and research base of the Department of Management at Kalmyk State University has been established within the Republican Financial Budget Control Service.
The high quality of the teaching staff ensures the training of specialists in accordance with the requirements of the main educational programs.
Research Interests
Organizational management; socio-economic situation of the Republic of Kalmykia; labor market infrastructure and its components; Russian insurance market; regional economy; labor market; migration; economic theory; human resource management.
Scientific Collaboration
The Department has established a tradition of close cooperation between its scholars and colleagues from the leading and regional research institutions of Volgograd State University and Astrakhan State Technical University. This cooperation is mainly realized through the preparation and publication of educational manuals, joint scientific publications, training of research personnel for universities, organization of conferences, and membership in dissertation councils.
