Historical Overview of the Department
In 1970, based on the General Technical Faculty, the Department of General Technical Disciplines was established to conduct classes for construction and mechanical streams. In 1979, it was transformed into the Department of General Engineering Disciplines.
In 1991, with the opening of the specialty "Industrial and Civil Construction," the Department of "Engineering Structures and Graphics" (ESG) was created.
The ESG Department became the graduating department for the specialty "Industrial and Civil Construction," chaired by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor German Mandzhievich Borlikov, with Associate Professor Anatoly Grigorievich Dordzhiev as deputy head.
In 2007, ESG was transformed into the Department of "Industrial and Civil Construction," which is the graduating department for specialty 270102 "Industrial and Civil Construction," headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Anatoly Grigorievich Dordzhiev.
In 2015, the Department of "Industrial and Civil Construction" was renamed the Department of Construction, and since 2018, the acting head of the department has been Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Amina Nazhmudinovna Badrudinova.

- With the Association of Construction Universities (ACU) of the Russian Federation and CIS, which coordinates KSU's activities in the specialty of Industrial and Civil Construction
- With Rostov State University of Civil Engineering, a regional leader in construction education, organizing competitions and olympiads, and assisting in training highly qualified specialists
