About the Department

Main Research Areas of the Department

  1. Study of effective methods for preventing, detecting, and investigating crimes related to the preparation and commission of terrorist acts.
  2. Study of the causes and conditions of juvenile group crime in the Republic of Kalmykia and development of methodological recommendations for its prevention.

In accordance with the 3rd generation Federal State Educational Standards (FSES), there are three training facilities available: a forensic laboratory where practical classes in "Forensics" are conducted; a courtroom hall where role-playing games for "Criminal Procedure" and "Civil Procedure" courses are held; and a newly created training ground where practical classes in "Forensics" and "Criminal Procedure" are conducted with a simulated crime scene inspection.

During the educational process, department instructors actively use modern techniques and tools for information support and teaching assistance (audio and video equipment, teaching materials, computer programs, slide projectors, etc.).
